Standing in my studio, brush in one hand, a coffee in the other, I'm staring at a blank canvas. How did I get here? Am I really an artist? I've been asked to contribute my artworks to Mantle and Muse, a second-hand furniture store specialising in mid-century pieces. I've been an admirer and customer of the store, but now they want my art too? To be sold in their trendy shop amongst beautifully restored furniture, vintage pieces and handmade ceramics?

As I start to wonder if there has been a case of mistaken identity, a hand gently rests on my shoulder. It's Phyllis, safe and calm, the voice of reason. "You've got this" she says.
